Praying, Loving, Trusting

Dear friends,

Thank you so much to every prayer and word of encouragement. I´m glad to share amazing news. Vitoria is going well and today she will leave ICU and go to a room. I hope in a few days we will go home with her.

She had a very good answer to antibiotics and in the beginning of week she stopped to receive drugs that helped her to mantain a good blood pressure and circulation (which were extremely damaged by the infection and septic shock). She remained stable throughout the week

On thursday she was extubated. This was the most painful part for her and for us. She needed to be sedated while she was intubated because when she woke up she got very nervous. The breathing tube hurt her airways and after she was extubated she had a laryngeal edema. Due to the swelling she had a great respiratory distress and had to use a special respiratory support called CPAP- she hated it and pulled it several times!

Since saturday she's wearing an oxygen mask and fortunately yesterday the amount of oxygen was reduced to less than half and she is responding very well. We are hopeful that in a few days she will be breathing normally and will be able to eat orally again. She has finished treatment with antibiotics, but is still doing inhalation with bronchodilator medications to improve her breathing and is also getting stomach protectors because of all medication she received.

We immensely thank God for having sustained Vitoria and us during these hard days and that our precious daughter is feeling much better now.

We were so blessed in this hospital where all doctors, nurses and physiotherapists treated her with great care and dedication that also helped so much in her recovery.

  6. I was watching some videos on YouTube today and a video of your daughter popped out. I had never seen any of her videos and I started to search for more because I thought it was just so beautiful the way you and your husband handle her! We can see the love and care you have for her! I just want you to know that from now on your little princess will be in my prayers, we serve a great God and He has been so good to you all! I can't even imagine what it's like for a mother to see her baby going through hard times like these, I have a 10 month baby boy and I would give my life for him and I thank God for his life and health. I admire you and your strength, and please know that now there is another person lifting you up in prayers! God bless you and keep you!

  10. Hello to little angel Vitoria and her wonderful parents,

My name is Nana, and I would like to tell you that you are an amazing example of real Chistian love in this world. May Lord bless your family. You showed everyone that there is always a hope, and ig one believes in Lords strenght everything is possible. You showed how love and believe concurres everything. You gave me an example to show to other doctors (I am an Ob/Gyn) that there are no incurable conditions and every baby, even not yet being born is a Gods child and we have no right to decide their fate. I will pray for you. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. If you are ever in London it will be my honour to have you as my guests.
